Mid Summer Music Fest Recap!

After we got off Shiprocked 2022 we kept in contact with  Menagha crew about this festival. As it got closer to the day to heading out to the festival. We found out that we would not be doing this trip alone as we were expecting our 4th kid. Before heading there we checked what campsite we had and we thought that our site had power hock ups so we should be fine.

Now the day has come for us to head to Menagha, MN. We headed to Jamestown to drop off the kids and head out early the next day. We did not know what to expect as this was out first camping festival together.  but we figured that everything would be ok  because we had the camper and power so we could run the AC. as it can get hot in July.

We got there a day before the festival started because they had a pre party that we got invited to. It worked out perfect because it was Nicole birthday! That was another reason why we want to do this trip.

As we pull up we could not help be be pumped. We meet Brett at the gate and he took us to our camp site. He told us that it was not to far from the main entrance of the event. As we get closer to the site we look at each other and was like this will be perfect as it was close to everything we needed. But there was one thing that we would soon come to find out that we did not have. 

We back the camper in and get all set up and realized that we did not have power at our site. Brett came back around and checked on use and I asked about the power situation! he told me that this area dose not have the power yet. I asked him if there was any more power spots open and he went and checked. When he came back he had a generator and said I found you your power because there was no more power spots open. After getting the generator out of the side by side I noticed it was not going to be big enough. I told him thanks for trying to get us power but this generator was just not big enough to run the AC. Then we had to tell him why we needed the power for the AC. He was so excited and disappointed at the same time because Nicole could not drink. But we will make the best of this he said.  I told him that we will go and try and find one that would work as we had some time before the pre-party. 

We head up to Park Rapids, MN to L&M Fleet Supply. Us also never being to an L&M Fleet store when we pulled up we looked at each other and said this should have what we need. When we walked in it was like 5 store in one and had everything you could posable think of. We went back and found the generator that would work and when they got it to us they put oil in it and a little gas and do a test run to make sure it runs like it should. As the did that we walk around the store finding so many things. After checking out and heading back to the campsite as soon as we pulled in Brett was at our camp site with some other Shiprockes and they asked where we went to get a generator we told them Park Rapids they could not believe that we drove all the way to Park Rapids but it was only 13 Miles so not a big deal but I would have went any were I needed to get this so Nicole could be conferrable. We got back just in time for supper and the first band to start.

We did not know the bands but we defiantly know the music they played. It did not start out like planed but the music made the day/night better. 

Day 2 

We got up and got ready for the day and had to figure out what we wanted to eat. Then Nicole reminded me that we had meal tickets for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner that came with our VIP tickets for all 3 day. So made our coffee and headed to the food trucks to get a breakfast bagel sandwich it was one of the of the best ones I have had I told Nicole that I will be eating this every morning. 

We had some time to kill before the bands started so we walked around the campground and found some more people we met on Shiprocked then we planned a for a photo with our Shiprocked family!
