This was the first time we were able to get VIP. It took 8 years to get it. We like that we are able to take this trip to get away from the cold North Dakota winters.

VIP Info

The VIP is well worth the extra money in my eyes. Yes it will take time to get VIP offered to you but once you are able to get it, I would highly recommend it.

In the VIP areas there are band members watching other bands rocking out with you.

Shiprocked is a whole different way to experience a concert. Maybe because it's like a "Family" and everyone knows what to expect now that most people have been on for years. I would have to say that a concert on land is definitely not the same anymore. But when we raise the Shiprocked flag the artist notices and sometimes call it out or let you know that they see it.

It is cool to see the stats of how many years people have been going on this trip. This is one reason we call it "SR Family" because you meet people of all walks of life and this is one place that we get to hang out and listen to the music we love.

USA Map with amount of people from each state

This Map is cool to see as well. North Dakota is in the 1-9 group. Including us, we know the rest of them that were on the ship as well and funny thing is they live in the same town as us and the only time we see them is on the ship! Total from ND was 4 of us.

The World Map is another cool one to see. It shows that everywhere people love rock music and are willing to travel for it. We have met people from all over the World. It is crazy for how many years we have been on we are still meeting new people. It starts in the airports when someone see me in my Shiprocked jacket, they yell out "SHIPROCKED"

This was our first year doing a shore excursion. We did it in the Dominican Republic at Damajagua Waterfalls. We hiked up to the 7th waterfall. There was a total of 27 but the rest were closed to the public. Over time the water carved smooth slides into the rocks that we were able to slide down.

The things that we liked about the experience was the hike, we got to see the countryside and it was not hard at all, they also had a few stops along the way. They provided helmets, a life jacket and a bottle of water (note: the water has to be finished before you start going back down). They also had shoes and lockers to rent if needed. They took lots of pictures and videos that you could buy at the end. I would recommend at least trying it for yourself.

The guides made it fun and told us interesting facts about the country. It was fun to experience the excursion but for us it was one and done. One thing that pushed us to not wanting to do this again was that we did not expect when going down the waterfalls you got stuck under water longer than expected.
